As responsible
dachshund breeders of AKC long haired dachshund, we want to ensure that our doxies find a forever home.
Therefore, we like to take our time in the adoption process and really get to know each new family. That way we can match
the personality of our miniature dachshund puppies to their new home. We are a dachshund breeder in Iowa, but we place our dogs all over the United
States as well as Canada. We focus our breeding solely on long haired miniature dachshunds. We fell in love with the doxie dog breed
because of their intelligence, big-dog attitude, and their individualistic personalities. We register our
dachshunds exclusively with
the
American Kennel Club. We are in the process of developing our sire and dam's individual
pages. The pages will have pictures and a description and in the future, videos.
We are available to talk about the dachshund breed, and welcome your questions about dachshunds. We are happy to give you any
information that will help you to choose the best breeder and puppy for you. We love to educate people who are new to the breed
about the qualities of dachshunds as well as give tips on
dog care and what it takes to raise a puppy. We believe that no question
is a bad question and will give our answer to the best of our knowledge. All of our pups are started on
paper training early, so
they are well on their way by the time they go to their new homes. We feed
our dachshunds
Eagle Pack Holistic Select
dog
food. It is a very
well balanced, non-transitional formula that can be fed at all stages of life. We have provided a page with other recommended
dachshund food brands that are great choices for your dog. Please always take your time in finding the right Doxie puppy and never
rush into buying until you are quite sure.
The miniature dachshund breed has a wide variety of
breed characteristics and there are many differences between them. However,
most doxie puppies make wonderful family pets because of their loving nature. They are an intelligent breed and were originally
developed for hunting badgers. In fact, dachshund is translated from its German origin as
dachs meaning badger, and
hund meaning dog. Their name is commonly mispronounced and misspelled as dashound or dachsund,
however, they are widely referred to as wiener
dogs. If you would like to hear about other people who share their lives
with a dachshund, visit the links to some popular
dachshund blogs. Some of the blogs are
social and some are educational, all will give you more insight into the
wonderful wiener dog world. Please always keep your heart open to a
dachshund in need adoption from the many well ran
Dachshund Rescues around the United States.
